It seems Moshe had an obsession with getting this movement ingrained into people’s bodies in all the different ways he very likely practiced… in his spare time.
As Nick experienced last night, the movement can be fatiguing he said it wasn’t something he wanted to return to in a hurry… that’s one way to do it. The other is to have the circle be as big as a 10 cent piece, have your focus be on the accuracy of the circle without putting in a lot of effort and exhausting yourself… just for something different!
One thing he states in this lesson may not be so true any more, or is it?
“In this society, you will not find two people for whom it (the spine) is truly symmetrical.
It cannot be.
What we call a normal, healthy spine is already twisted a little to the right because we write on the right side. With men, the right side of the body is heavier because the liver is heavier. With woman, the difference is a little smaller. With men, the right side is such that the spine of an older man... if you take the head... it is always turned a little bit to the right. With an accurate anatomy book you will see... for example there is an exceptional anatomy book of Dr. Netter in all the drawings you will see a slight inclination to the right is in every ideal spine... what he calls ideal. In this situation we are correcting the ideal distortion. Also, with healthy bodies, there needs to be a small difference.
That is life experience.
This also needs to be smoothed and separated.
It is on the right with the great majority because... even for those who are left-handed, doors open to the right and scissors work with the right hand. You have to drive like everybody else. All the machines in the world are made for right-handed people... all the workers... so there isn't any choice.”
