Tonight we’re doing the segment where you will be lying on the stomach with palms of the feet together as you roll from side to side using the arms and looking at the feet.

It’s where we get to feel how, and if, using the eyes assists us through a movement. I’m currently reading parts of a book called Master Moves by Moshe and in it he quotes one of his favorite old Chinese sayings:

Maybe through these movements you will comprehend the role the eyes play in movement. I often think of the wiring deep through the centre axis of the human body, how the backs of the eyes feed, the nerves, feed into the spinal ‘chords’ and through all the way to the toes. I think of this ‘wiring’ as elastic, and imagine the connection from the back of the eyes lengthening and stretching the fascial lines through the whole system.

Be gentle with your self, use props if you liked the effect they had on you in this weeks’ lessons and take rests whenever your system has had enough.

Then start again when you’re ready to do more.
