“It is important that the intention to do something
happens together with the thought,
‘This is easy for me to do.
And it will be fun if I can ever do this.”
Moshe Feldenkrais edited by Dale!
A lot of Moshe’s work has been edited by Neuro Linguistic Programmers who couldn’t tolerate all of the ‘nots’ in his words. And this is what I’ve done with his quote of
"This is not difficult for me to do.
It is not important to ever do this."
which is different to what I said in the recording.
This is another really beautiful, classic Feldenkrais lesson with an intense exploration into the WAY humans move - with full acknowledgement that we all move very very differently. Hence our ‘signature’ walks, our moves, our individual patterns that let the world know who we are.
One of the intentions of this Method is to intercept those patterns with options and create choice through the way we move… options that are in line with the way our bones are designed. Having experienced options that gradually, over time integrate with our selves, humans can then explore a greater range of options in life. We learn to intercept patterns in a way that makes it known there’s a safety in exploring something different through our internal systems, therefore as an extension of our physical changes, mental spiritual and ontological become optional rather than habitual.
With that ‘in mind’, enjoy learning more about, with and FOR your self through today’s movements:
