From Marianne:
“This lesson continues with with lower arms crossed and fingers interlaced…
as in the previous lesson #540 - Fingers interlaced and inverted overhead and in front.
When done slowly and with attention to respect your boundaries of comfort,
these movements have the potential for mobilizing areas
that have been hard to reach….
stuck areas between ribs, sternum,
cervical and thoracic vertebrae…
and they have the potential to initiate the range of movement available
through the scapula, clavicle and arm.
“…during learning, you must do it slowly,
quietly, allowing yourself the comfort
to find which parts of the body do not participate in the action
and make it impossible.
If the entire person would participate in the action
there is nothing he (or she) cannot do.
The entire person wants completely
- also the intellect, also the emotions,
and also the sensation.”

I first explored this lesson 45 years ago…
and I still find it manages to elicit responses of
“push a little harder”,
“skip over the tricky bits”,
“unclasp hands so I can achieve the movement”
This time, I decided to slow down
and patiently listen to where and when I tighten…
and feel for ways to find comfort and ease.
I have included an exploration as a scan
(13 minutes sitting in a chair)
at the beginning of the lesson.
I hope that you will find some moments in this lesson where you are able to listen quietly… and find, deep within yourself… the benefits this lesson has to offer.
Please enjoy a 1 minute youtube video demonstrating the basic movement of this lesson.
Marianne.”
