AY 527 Extending arms and knees
From Marianne:
“This lesson is one of my all time favourites.
Moshe offers us a framework to explore a configuration of arms, legs, chest, head
and pelvis… in which each rib is gently and graciously invited to contribute its part
of a movement sequence in a diagonal rocking movement
connecting the ribs/chest/pelvis through the spine.
Its one of those lessons that you may find richly rewards patience and gentleness…

wait for it.
“There is no benefit touching the shoulder to the floor,
but rather from the body being able to bend,
so the chest will be flexible,
so it will be possible to do.
This is more important than anything else
because this removes death from in front of the eyes.
This moves it farther away.

But, not to touch the floor
- it is not important to the floor if it is touched.
And also, it is not important for you”
At first I found this quote from the lesson rather startling,
and then as I felt into my experience…
I thought maybe it is a suggestion to let my awareness go deeper into the ribs
and feel the movement of these bones as they create
a gentle contacting expanding inner space for my heart…
and deepen my sense of how life affirming this movement is.”

And with that thought provoking introduction,
Marianne sends us her recording
to connect,
feel,
sense
and become more…
in touch
with our Selves through these movements:
