With this lesson, now that we have five hundred and twenty three under our belts we begin to differentiate, articulate and identify different bones so that we have more of an idea how to use them.
I think by now the essence of these lessons has become much clearer, it really does not matter how “good” the movements are, if they’re higher, more than, better compared to, or the best you’ve ever done… we’re not interested in that AT ALL.
What this method is teaching us is how to learn.
By doing small and slow movements so that we can feel the path and intercept it in the instance there is pain, or discomfort. Generally, when that happens it is our physical body screaming out… and it could be saying….
“P U H LEASE… find another way,
this path is not the only one,
we’ve been doing this way for far too long.”
When we move slowly we can etch a path that feels good, we can f e e l our way and connect our systems into the groove that have been designed for each bone to move from and with. Often times over the years we develop ‘signature’ ways that are not necessarily the most efficient, some of the time they’re the painful shortcuts that worked at one point in time and could have reached their used by date.
Once the systems have connected,
once they (we) fit,
THEN we move faster to familiarise our selves with that pattern.
So this way of moving is different way, very possibly we’re doing everything you’ve been told NOT to. Unlearning takes some time and practice to learn.. please, be patient.
Give this practice some time
to feel
if some of what you learn ‘sticks’
when you least expect it!
