Tonight we continue with last night’s “bewdy” of a lesson… on a chair moving the sit-bones to lengthen our bodies on one side and then the other (so it’s not a one sided lesson tonight). We make a few different moves to mix up the sequences and feel into other ways that can make sitting on a chair more entertaining.
I asked Grok what the benefits were and it came back with this:
”The movements in this Awareness Through Movement lesson benefit the skeletal system by enhancing spinal and joint mobility, improving coordination and proprioception, supporting joint lubrication, and promoting balanced muscle engagement.
The spine gains flexibility and better alignment, the pelvis and hips improve in stability and range of motion, and the shoulder girdle becomes more mobile and integrated with the rest of the body.
These gentle, mindful approach ensures these benefits are achieved without undue stress, making the lesson particularly valuable for maintaining skeletal health, reducing stiffness, and preventing injury in daily activities.
Having walking breaks reinforce these improvements by allowing the skeletal system to adapt to new movement patterns in a functional context.”
