Awareness Through Movement #504

“As much as the pelvis goes further back as it begins the movement,
then the knees are open to work; and therefore,
all people who move the pelvis like this, have healthy knees.
All who work with the knees, ruin the knees.
For instance, I am an example of this.
All my life, I used the knees with the large muscles
and I ruined both my knees in a trick like this or a trick like that.
And, it is only because of this
that I now know a bit of how to move the pelvis so I can go on knees like this.
Otherwise, by now it would be necessary to put them in a museum.”

The lessons from this walking series seem to be a little shorter than the others, have a chair nearby in case you’d like to take a seat during the movements. It’s an extension of the movements we’ve done thus far, and great for co-ordination:

“Co-ordination refers to the harmonious interaction of muscles, nerves, joints,
and the brain to produce smooth, controlled, and purposeful movements.
A well-coordinated body enhances physical efficiency,
reduces injury risk, and improves overall quality of life in several ways.”
