Awareness Through Movement #474
With the help of the limbs in the air, rolling to get up - BREATHING
During the last year and four months, we have explored a few lessons with an emphasis on breathing, ways to, the power of, and noticing the rhythm as oxygen enters our bodies and carbon dioxide leaves.
Which could have Moshe think we’re ready for these movements that act as a regulator for the breath. It’s almost as though he’s asking us to move around the breath, to move only as far as the breathing stays gentle, before it’s disrupted… if that happens, then we are invited to pause and start once the breath has settled in to a similar pattern during the resting phase.
Sounds easy, right?
I’m finding it interesting that when I do lessons this thought stays with me, how can I do these movements with a soft breathing pattern, what happens if I listen to my breathing and notice what exactly cause the tempo to change, the depth, the sound, the quality?
Since taking on this (great) project (thanks Nancy, and, where are you?) I’ve become much more aware of my breathing patterns and I’m feeling different, I think better for the awareness raised by questions such as these. Socially I am more at ease with meeting people, aware that they too have probably got something going on meeting me for the first time, as I do them. I figure if at least one of us is anchored to the breathing the more pleasant the experience will be - so far it’s proven true!
I think I’m finally getting what Moshe has been teaching us,
these lessons are way more than ‘just’ the movement,
they’re for us to learn more about the BEing-ness of “human”.
