And so we continue with a series to explore the kinetic chain, using the ground to assist us… and the armpits!
What, the armpits??
In this lesson we explore what happens when these ribs are exposed and used to lengthen the whole side that is connected with the floor.
As you’ll hear as you move through the variations… imagine the effect, when this area is opened a tiny fraction of a mm further to separate the ribs and make more room for the lungs… the difference this makes for the reach in the hand.
Often times people want to pull the muscles thinking they’re making them longer because muscles “stretch”, right??
Right??
What if, instead we make space between the bones to create distance between the materials that keeps them together - ligaments, tendons, fascia and yes muscle - larger from the torso? How would that affect the movement of the finer limbs, the fingers, and the toes - would they be freed up to sense and explore the outer world?
In this lesson we’ll find out!
Enjoy learning more about, with and FOR your Self through these movements :)
