Some Feldenkrais lessons “work” only on one side… to give people a stronger sense of how effective they are. As the title suggests, this lesson is one of them.

A Look at the Importance of Differentiation in the Classroom

It reminds me of when I introduced a friend to this Method through a one sided lesson (I had nothing to do with that decision, at that point in time I had no idea that Feldenkrais did such a thing). She was horrified when the practitioner said “that’s the end, the other side will balance out over the next few hours”….

“NO, please, do something - I feel really weird”

So we lay back down on the ground and imagined doing the same movements on the other side until she was happy to get up and feel her “normal” self.

With this lesson you have the recording to listen to again if you wish and do the other side - or, you can imagine your way through the movements… or, if you could move through what you remember of the sequences kinaesthetically if you’re feeling really adventurous.

Suggestion: take a photo of your face before and after to compare differences.

Lessons like these are a fun way to feel how profound these tiny micro movements can be.

Enjoying learning more…. about, WITH and for your Self :)
