“This lesson involves lying quietly on the back or sides and exploring the wave of motion through the spine from tailbone to head and jaw.

I find it fascinating to imagine and sense motion in the tiny segments of the coccyx/tailbone…
to think/feel how these tiny movements create a soft,
gentle wave of motion through the entire vertebral “column”…

something like a fern unfurling a new frond:

I’ve added some images to assist you visualise the coccyx:

what it looks like in an X-ray, the coccyx extended and flexed:

We think of it as fused... however there IS movement available in the sacrum.

perhaps the next time you see a fern frond unfurl you could be reminded of your tailbone!
