This lesson brings awareness of head and pelvis movement patterns while sitting backward and forward on the knees. Through tonight’s theme we get to explore habitual versus non-habitual movements and choose which is most enjoyable… sometimes the habitual way is not necessarily the most efficient way.

As you are invited to bend, it might be worth sensing or visualising (whatever works for you) what is happening on the INSIDE of the spine. We often touch the spikey bits at the back thinking what we touch IS the spine however there’s a whole lot more that we can not feel with our fingers. Perhaps when we learn to feel what’s happening on the inside, we will have a greater image of the self… which I think is what Moshe was pointing to through his Method. As he said many times:

“We act in accordance with our self image”

How would humans act if there were a clearer sense of the self from the inside??

This lesson can assist us improve pelvic mobility by practicing the same backward/forward movement with legs joined together and apart… by exploring options we get to choose which way is most efficient, most enjoyable and the easiest way.

The WAY we move can strengthen the lower back and abdominal movements… and raise questions… does the way we move depend on which area we focus on, or when we move our bodies wholistically, with all the systems moving together as a team? Through these explorations we get to find that out for our Selves,
and choose,
and change..

through choice.

Grok says that over all, the movements in this lesson can improve movement efficiency and body awareness through a focus on integrating the head, spine, and pelvis in various positions.

Enjoy learning more with your Self :)
