Awareness Through Movement #418

I first did this lesson in the Australian training, and we took it to another level at the break afterwards!

The weirdest yet most satisfying feeling, smiles on all of our faces, we were like little kids having discovered something curiously simply and curiously satisfying. The beauty of doing these online without a camera is that nobody is watching and nobody will ever know you’ve done this - unless of course you can not help yourself telling your friends and family!

A list of benefits that are available after 40-ish minutes of exploration:

  • Reconnecting with Your Body’s Wisdom:
As humans, we often forget how our bodies are designed to move naturally. This lesson reminds you that your body is a living,
    interconnected system,
rather than a collection of parts.
By feeling how your toes connect to your hips and beyond,
you tap into a deeper sense of being alive
    and present
    in your physical self,
which can feel grounding and meaningful.

  • Embracing Play and Curiosity:
The instruction to “play like a child”
    reflects a fundamental human trait
—our ability to explore and learn through play.
This not only improves movement but also reconnects people with a sense of wonder and joy, which can counter feelings of disconnection or routine in modern life.

  • Feeling Grounded in the World:
When you stand and walk at the end of the lesson,
you’re encouraged to sense your connection with the earth.
This can foster a sense of belonging to the world around you,
reminding you that as a human, you’re part of a larger natural system.
Your feet, as the base of your body’s chain,
literally root you to the ground,
giving you a physical and existential sense of stability.

  • Awareness of Individuality and Adaptation:
Noticing how some toes are “rebellious”,
or how one foot feels different from the other
highlights your uniqueness as a human.
This lesson teaches you to work with your body as it is,
adapting movements to suit your needs.
This mirrors the human experience of navigating life’s challenges
    with resilience and self-awareness.

  • Rediscovering Movement as a Human Gift:
Movement is a fundamental part of what makes us human
—it’s how we explore, create, and connect with others.
By focusing on small, often overlooked parts like the toes,
    this lesson helps people appreciate
the complexity and beauty of the human body’s design.

This can deepen your sense of purpose and connection
    to the human experience,
as you realize how every part of you contributes
to your ability to move through the world.

Warning, you might develop super powers after this lesson!
