Tonight we’ll learn more about these bones:

The Hip Bone - Ilium - Ischium - Pubis - TeachMeAnatomy

namely the ischium, or more commonly known, the sit bones. they have a front, back, left, right, rounded curve as you can see in this (green) image.

I remember looking at this once and thinking I saw a propellor, it was the beginning of how I started to change my relationship with my pelvis. I’ve shared numerous times I always thought of it as a rectangular box that was fixed.. the more I think of it as a collection of bones that have movement in relation to each other, the freer I feel. I used to have such a complex about my ‘childbearing’ hips with ginormous love-handles (or so I thought) and did all I could to hide them!

Self image it’s such a crazy thing some times.]

Pelvis Rocking Chair
looks like some AI systems are getting creative with imagery :)

Moshe has us explore ways to shift our weight on these little rocking chairs, and the feeling can be quite comforting. Another way to think of them is that they’re like little feet when we’re sitting, they’re what support us to sit upright - although I’m seeing my people on the bus lately who seem to have lost that ability… slouched over, heads in phones oblivious to their skeletal systems, thinks me in judgmental mode.

The duration of this lesson is 41 minutes according to the recording.. and Vita, if you’re feeling like joining us I think you’ll like this one :)

See you some time between 7.45 and 7.59 for an 8pm start..
