“The movement itself is less important than the quality of attention when breathing during an action.

Pay attention to the way the movement is made rather than to the movement itself.”

and later “This is the essence of the essences”

Vita, Asanga, I think you'll both love this lesson, very gentle and… inquisitive :)

Combining movement with the breathing.. it has me feel like a vessel around the breath, like I can move around the lungs as they do their thing… expand and press into their malleable surroundings and then shrink away into a tiny space.

I remember getting in to a debate with somebody who was adamant that the heart pumped movement in to the ribs which simply followed along. There was no talk about the lungs…. as if they weren’t part of the picture at all. At that time I was of the (very strong) opinion that the ribs pumped the heart… now I have softened my militant view to see that they all work together.

There are so many different points of view, each is valid…

More food for thought… what if… when humans learn to fully allow our bodies to do their job, that one little basic thing called breathing… to fully soak up the oxygen, remove carbon dioxide and… synchronise with our environment… synchronise with the plants, both below and above ground…. maybe then our attention can shift to more positive aspects of living?

Maybe.
