Thomas Myers created the Anatomy Trains, which shows how we have fascial lines running through our bodies, winding their way around muscles and bones in certain directions. That’s what he calls trains, and he has found 12 of them that feed their way through the front, the back, diagonals and across us.
I have only done a weekend course with Tom Myers, which I found fascia-nating.. his passion for the human body is to be respected, he’s a fanatic.
What I learned about this very thin gooey fluid is that it’s everywhere, around muscle fibres, muscles, bones, organs and it feeds its way from head to foot and it has more proprioceptors than the skin - it’s a communication network. I think of it as a sixth sense.. it’s what could be responsible for that feeling when we know somebody is watching, or standing behind us.
We’ll be exploring one of these tracks through our arms with this lesson tonight, in our imagination.
