Apologies for bombarding your emails with yet another post… it’s just that… dammit, I missed my own deadline for the release of this post by 30minutes. How this space is organised is… I (usually) draft and schedule the following day’s lesson after I upload the recording the previous night… and today I became mesmerised with tomorrow’s lesson instead of this one!

Tonight we have yet another classic twisty one which I’m pretty sure most of you have done before - except maybe Asanga… who is taking a bit of a rest after losing her balance with one of the lessons and falling on her radiator which unfortunately connected with her ribs in a very unpleasant way! We touched base yesterday and she’s fine with what happened… I can still hear her laughter “who would have thought I could cause so much damage with a Feldenkrais lesson. It’s supposed to be a gentle practice!” When you hear me give warnings about moving your radiator out of the way, now you’ll know why.

Due to this being a pretty familiar lesson for the rest of you, I’ll be drawing attention to what we’ve already explored… the sliding of the shoulder blades over the ribs, rolling the pelvis, and your connection with the ground.. aka grounding.

Most people think of grounding through the feet… what about… when we lie flat on our backs?? Do you think the Earth can feel us the same way we can feel it?When you hear me say “feel how the ribs move in relation to the spine" (or something along those lines)… this video might provide a visual for what I’m meaning:
